About The Mahogany Institute

Our Mission

The Mahogany Institute exists to provide culturally responsive mental health care that honors identity and culture, fosters healing, and promotes personal growth. We are committed to creating therapeutic spaces where individuals can explore their experiences with curiosity, compassion, and dignity.

Our Vision

We envision a world in which high-quality mental health care is accessible, culturally affirming, and transformative. Through clinical services, psychological assessment, community education, and workforce development, The Mahogany Institute seeks to cultivate wellness, empowerment, and meaningful change across generations.

Our Brand Pillars

Healing begins when people are given the opportunity to be fully seen.

I created this practice from a belief that mental health care should honor the whole person—their culture, identity, relationships, lived experiences, and aspirations and that community and connection leads to healing. Too often, individuals seek support only to find themselves having to explain, justify, or compartmentalize important parts of who they are. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where clients feel understood within the context of their full story.

My professional journey is  guided by a commitment to social justice and helping people navigate life with greater clarity, self-awareness, and purpose. Throughout my work, I have been particularly passionate about supporting individuals who are navigating questions of identity, healing from trauma, managing the pressures of high achievement, and learning to redefine success on their own terms.

As a psychologist, I recognize that many people have spent much of their lives surviving expectations—family expectations, societal expectations, cultural expectations, and internal expectations. Therapy offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and determine what truly aligns with who you are and who you are becoming.

My approach is grounded in the belief that healing is not simply about reducing symptoms. Healing is about increasing freedom. It is about understanding the stories that have shaped us, exploring the relationships that influence us, honoring the cultural experiences that inform us, and developing the capacity to live more intentionally.

The Mahogany Institute was born from a vision that extends beyond traditional psychotherapy. While providing high-quality clinical services remains central to our mission, I also believe in developing future clinicians, increasing access to care, supporting first-generation scholars and professionals, and creating pathways for individuals and communities to thrive. Through therapy, assessment, consultation, education, and training, The Mahogany Institute seeks to contribute to a future where culturally responsive, affirming, and excellent mental health care is accessible to all.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and understood.

Whether you are navigating a difficult season, healing from past experiences, exploring your identity, or working toward personal growth, I am honored by the opportunity to walk alongside you in that process.

Welcome to The Mahogany Institute.
